Job Opening for Installation Specialist

We are looking to add an Installation Specialist to work with our implementation team to install our web-based application software at customer sites.

Job Functions:

• Obtaining proper version of software for deployment to customer site.
• Creating VPN connections to customer sites.
• Preparing server environment (database systems, web servers, etc.) to receive an installation of our software.
• Work with customer DBAs and network administrators to install the software
• Apply patches and/or upgrades to the software
• Handle support issues related to software installation
• Diagnose performance and/or security

Mandatory Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong SQL skills
• Operating system scripting such as shell scripting
• Comfortable working with database servers and Unix operating systems
• Knowledge of web-server configuration and installation

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of directory servers such as Active Directory and LDAP
• Some programming experience
• Network administration experience
