Senior Oracle DBA/Linus System Administrator
Job Functions:
* Install, configure and support Oracle 10g and related packages (RAC, DataGuard, MAA, etc.) on Linux in a 24x7x365 online environment.
* Plan for expected rapid growth of Oracle capacity needs.
* Manage multiple databases and/or multiple schema on the same server.
* Create, optimize, back up (hot and cold), restore, and repair databases and schemas, as well as plan recovery strategies.
* Optimize SQL
* Configure and maintain Oracle Enterprise Manager
* Create, configure, and manage iSCSI SANs, especially related to databases.
* Build, configure, and maintain internal and customer-accessed RedHat or CentOS Linux systems.
* Linux user administration.
* Provide after hours support, as needed, for critical systems.
* The ability to manage multiple assignments in a constantly changing environment.
* Create and maintain related system and process documentation.
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Mandatory Skills:
* This position requires at least 5 years experience with Oracle DBMS.
* At least 5 years experience in Linux systems administration.
* Experience with Linux and Unix variants.
* Must have working knowledge of TCP/IP.
* Operating system scripting such as shell scripting (BASH, Perl, etc.).
Desirable Skills
* Experience with SQL Server and/or IBM DB2.
* Experience with OpenBSD.
* Experience setting up Apache Web Servers and Apache Tomcat .
* Experience with Java.
* DS3 and other WAN connections, routers, switches, wireless networks.
* Experience with firewalls (iptables, pf), IPSec, DNS, NetBackup, OpenVPN and Cisco site-to-site VPNs.
* Some programming experience.
